The New Spirituality

In Billie Dean’s Animal Whispers newsletter this week, she mentioned that she and a lot of other people were getting the feeling that “something big was getting closer. That it was time to step into our medicine. What Lightworkers and Wayshowers and Pioneers and Earthkeepers and Animal Warriors all came here to do. Be the Light.”

I started to contemplate what my role in this might be.  Although I know that I am an Animal Warrior, and an Earthkeeper, I also know that, along with Angela, the character in my books, I am here to also be a Wayshower, and Lightworker.

I knew it was no coincidence that I was reminded, this week, about a book that I read a couple of years ago: Tomorrow’s God, by Neale Donald Walsch.  This book shows us the world to which the Lightworkers, Wayshowers, Pioneers, Earth Keepers, and Animal Warriors are leading us.

Tomorrow’s God is a very different God to yesterday’s God.  Far from the God of wrath of olden times, Tomorrow’s God is a God of love.  Tomorrow’s God does not require anyone to believe in her, but belief in him will definitely help everyone to live happier, more joyful lives.

The book helps us to understand  that “God is an energy that I can use at any time, with consistent and predictable results.  Used in this way, God becomes my greatest friend, my most effective tool, my most astonishing power, in the creation of the experience of my desires.  I am God.”

Tomorrow’s God introduces us to the idea of the New Spirituality.  The New Spirituality is, not only a way of being, but also a term given for the era which, I believe, we are about to enter.

In this new era, the words God and Life will become interchangeable.  Everyone will understand that God exists in all of its creation.  A love of God will easily translate into a love of all Life, and vice versa.  Everyone will understand that we are all one.  We will all understand the lesson that Jesus taught, and which is taught in all major religions: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

As you may be beginning to appreciate, this new era, based on love, will be much more joyful than the era, which we are now moving out of – the one based on fear.

I know there is still much fear in the world, but we can help to bring this new era about more quickly, by focusing on love. There are ways that we can do this:

  • Ask: “What would love do now?” when faced with any decision.
  • Think love, be love, and act with love in all that we do.

  • Send peace, love, healing, and joy out into the world.

In Tomorrow’s God, we are given practical steps that we can begin to take now, to start towards the era of the New Spirituality.  These are:

  • Meditation
  • Exercise

  • Eating well

“Love your neighbour as yourself” is a quote which appears in a number of places throughout The Bible.  Many people remember the part about loving your neighbour, but few have understood the part about loving yourself.  These three steps begin our focus on love, with love of the self.  For it is only when we can feel our own love, that we are in a position to truly love another.

If we use our God energy, our most effective tool, our most astonishing power – our love – we can easily create the world we desire, a world of peace, love, freedom, and joy for all.

Let us all aim to follow Ghandi’s example, and be the change we wish to see in the world.
